About

Red Apron Homemade began long before the first batch of fudge was ever poured.

It started in my mother’s kitchen. My mother was a professional caterer who had a gift for bringing people together through food. She believed meals should feel warm, welcoming, and made with care — whether she was serving a wedding, a festival crowd, or family gathered around the table. Watching her work taught me that food is more than something you eat. It’s comfort. It’s memory. It’s connection. The name Red Apron comes from a story that’s been part of our family for years. My father was colorblind and could only truly see red. Because of that, he became known for buying everything in red — shirts, tools, decorations, and one day, an apron for my mother to wear while catering events. That red apron eventually became part of her staff uniform, and over time, it became a symbol of the love and hard work they poured into serving others. After my mother passed, I kept that apron.  Today, it hangs as a reminder of where this journey began and the values that still guide everything we do: homemade quality, genuine hospitality, and food made from the heart. Every piece of fudge we craft carries a little bit of that legacy forward.

You can find Red Apron Homemade at the Texas Renaissance Festival and Sherwood Forest Faire, where we also proudly operate Brew Moon Coffee & Cravables — serving handcrafted drinks, comforting food, and sweet treats to festival guests from all over.

What began as a family story has grown into something we’re honored to share with others. When you visit us or take home a box of our fudge, you’re not just supporting a small business — you’re becoming part of the tradition that inspired it.
